Sun into Aries; the warrior and the flame

I’m writing this a little late, just a few days after the Spring Equinox here in the northern hemisphere, when the Sun moves into the zodiac sign of Aries and sparks a new astrological year. Finally we can fully release the stagnant energy of winter and kindle a new beginning. the energy of hope is much needed right now and whatever Aries season and indeed the following months brings, keeping our inner flame burning bright and strong will help us to meet it with resilience and strength.

Venus arrived in Aries the day after the Sun (Sunday 21st), bringing passion and a love of conquest. So what do you want to conquer? Mars, the ruler of Aries, is currently in Gemini, enhancing our ability to speak our truth but perhaps not our sensitivity. Venus in Aries ruled by Mars in Gemini - classic astrological symbolism for women speaking out, speaking up as we’ve seen these last couple of weeks. This dynamic is set to continue, especially around 25th March when there’s help from Mercury (still in Pisces so bringing some welcoming empathy) and the North Node in Gemini. Where do we allow ourselves to soften and when do we go on the attack? Venus and the Sun meet Chiron at the end of March, illuminating old patterns of how we relate, how we stand up for ourselves and how we balance the two. With a full moon in Libra, the sign of relationships, on March 28th, it’s safe to say this conversation isn’t over. In fact, it’s set to continue into April, with Mercury moving into Aries, meeting Chiron there a few days later on April 9th.

As we move through April, the reality behind the words is becoming clearer, with connections between Saturn and the North Node on April 10th and Pluto and the North Node the following day. The North Node in Gemini calls us to speak our truth yet again, and with both Saturn and Pluto in the mix we may find ourselves saying what others don’t want to hear. Which is exactly why it needs saying. Venus and the Sun both square Pluto in the following days (Venus on 12th April and the Sun on the 16th), demanding a breakdown of outdated power structures. Aries carries a kind of pure energy, a deep knowing of what’s right and a call to act on that in the coming weeks.
