Full Moon Astro-Tarot: Healing Self and Other

The full moon on 21st March 2019 is a powerful one. It takes place at the same time as the Spring Equinox here in the northern hemisphere, adding energy and power for the astrological new year. The Sun is conjunct Chiron the wounded healer in Aries. With the Moon in relationship-oriented Libra, this full moon brings an intensity to our close relationships and highlights the dynamic between self and other. Where do we need to take back our healing, instead of seeking it from others?

As it coincides with the astrological new year, this full moon chart will have an influence on the whole of the coming solar cycle. We are looking at a year of understanding where we are wounded, taking responsibility for the wounds we have caused (in ourselves and in others), and seeking healing as well as deeper connection. For many people, our close relationships are a crucible for our growth, the cauldron for many of our deepest learnings and transformations. The Aries Libra dynamic isn't just about our close romantic relationships, but the way that we connect with all the perceived "others" in our lives, all those dualities which so often define our world. Male / female, extrovert / introvert, light / dark, life / death. And of course, the Equinox carries the same energies, the same search for equilibrium. We've had strong winds here in London for weeks now, the weather ebbing and flowing between winter and spring as the Winter Hag and the Spring Maiden battle for supremacy.
One of the key lessons of the Equinoxes and the Libra Aries axis is that balance is not a static state. It's a constant process, a shift between active and receptive, light and dark, wind and calm. It's a pivot point in the solar cycle, the light in the ascendant, the season of growth gathering pace. Just to add a little extra zing to our efforts to find harmony, Uranus makes a close connection to the Moon and Sun in the full moon chart. If we are living blind or in denial, something may come along to shock us out of our apathy. If we are seeking growth and self-awareness, there's an opportunity for awakening here, a closer connection to our personal unique truth. But we can't find it by giving away all our power to others, or by grasping it all for ourselves. Give and take, ebb and flow, back and forth. Pluto is in the background, connecting with Venus and Jupiter and the South Node in the full moon chart, showing us the path of our transformation in the coming weeks. What do we most value, what gives life meaning? How are we living our truth? Pluto meeting the South Node brings in karmic energy, an opportunity to transform deep-rooted patterns both personally and collectively. It's exact on March 29th, likely to be a significant date here in the UK, as I already considered in the last new moon post. And of course from self and other it's only a short hop to them and us, and how different would the world be if we could get rid of that distinction?
So what do the cards have to tell us about this full moon's powerful energy?

Sun conjunct Chiron - How can we heal our deepest selves? - Eight of Cups

My first thought on seeing this card was that we need to put it all back into the cauldron and start again. We need to be willing to take responsibility for own healing, for making the changes in our selves and our lives to make that healing possible. As the conjunction in Aries suggests, we need to be our own warriors. And we need to make a new beginning, find a more meaningful path than the one we are currently on.

Moon in Libra - How can we find our equilibrium? - Strength

This is a beautiful card for this placement, another vote for the inner warrior we all possess. The strength of this card isn't power over others, it's finding our power within and using it to be our best selves. It's rooted in empathy and love as well as courage. This card also makes me think that to bring ourselves back into equilibrium, we need to re-connect with our wild selves. We've become too tame, too civilised.

Aspects to Uranus - How can we awaken the oneness of the universe in all of us? - Four of Stones

Interesting to get a card which is all about rooting ourselves in the material as a way of awakening our connection to oneness. Because of course, all our invented dualities are constructs, in reality, there is but one universe, and we are within it as much as it is within us. "Them and us" doesn't exist except in our minds. So we need to get out of our minds, our tame selves who want the world to be ordered and sensible. We need to root ourselves in nature, in the gifts of the sun and the earth, given without question or expectation of reward. The power that's in the earth is in us too.
