Monthly Astro Forecast; New Moon in Scorpio

The dark, or new, Moon in Scorpio, is powerful, picking up on the energy of the recent Jupiter Pluto conjunction (exact on November 12th). This is the Samhain dark moon and in many ways, the energy is more akin to Samhain itself than the full moon we had on calendar Samhain a couple of weeks ago. We are called to reflect, to go willingly into the dark and embrace what we find there. Once again lockdown can become a retreat time, a cauldron or crucible which holds us as we break out of old ways and make space for the new. This is a powerful seed point for change and the new Moon is in helpful aspect with the Jupiter Pluto conjunction, allowing us to begin the process of manifesting that change if we're willing to put the work in. There's buried treasure to be found, a taking back of power at the same time as releasing any need to control or dominate. Scorpio is a water sign and however much we cling on to what we desperately want to be permanent, sooner or later the flow will take us. Better to go willingly than to resist. If you do find yourself resisting, pay attention, resistance always has something to teach us, not to mention power to return to us. We might be feeling especially vulnerable this new Moon, so keep some gentle inner and outer boundaries in place as you sow the seeds of your  - our - regeneration. It's feeling like rather a cliché to say that the veils are especially thin at this time of year but then all clichés carry a grain of truth. By aligning ourselves with the energies of nature, withdrawing and paying attention to our roots, we can certainly tune in to deeper parts of ourselves and find a new awareness of the world around us. Personally, I'm experiencing this right now as a profound silence, a feeling of anticipation, as well as a sense of settling in and rooting down.

We are in a liminal time, not just the season but also collectively, globally. This is the final conjunction of Jupiter and Pluto in Capricorn and in the coming weeks, both Jupiter and Saturn complete their journeys through that sign and move on into Aquarius, meeting at Winter Solstice in a powerful conjunction. The energies are shifting and as this lunation continues, Venus squares all the Capricorn planets from Libra, challenging us to do the work with tact and empathy for others. Mercury and Venus both oppose Uranus in Taurus, breaking us out of entrenched patterns and ways of seeing the world. And thankfully on November 21st, the Sun moves on into Sagittarius, bringing light and warmth. We are gently reminded to look to the future, to awaken our vision, to remind ourselves of what has meaning. Now it's about what we can do, rather than what holds us back.
