Monthly Astro Forecast: New Moon in Sagittarius

Before I start, a heads up! Special offer on astrology readings for January to help you manifest an amazing 2019, read on for details 😍

The Solstice new moon falls on December 7th at 15° Sagittarius, at the midway point of the sign of light, advent and visions. The Sagittarius energy is especially strong right now, with its ruling planet Jupiter recently arrived there and Mercury due in a few days on 12 December, the latter having finally moved out of its retrograde phase on December 6th. This is the sign of the archer, reaching high and far to find the meaning and beauty in life. Sagittarius asks us what gives life meaning? What patterns are playing out in your life? How do you experience the spark of the divine? Using questions like these as journal prompts can help us to see our personal life as a story, connecting us to all the other stories around us (and if you do any journalling on this, I'd love to hear about it!)
Sagittarius energy seeks liberation, freedom from the material and the mundane. It seeks the truth, a higher purpose, new experiences. Those with strong Sagittarius energy are generally hungry for life, wanting to do everything, go everywhere, experience it all. Fear of missing out can be an issue here! Sagittarius energy encourages us to keep our inner fires burning as we travel through the darkest days of the year here in the northern hemisphere, making space for our vision of the new season. Balancing our energy can be a challenge at this time of year, making space for the necessary retreat into the dark whilst also enjoying the seasonal celebrations. I've been seizing the daylight, shuffling the children straight to the park the moment the (seemingly incessant) rain stops. This time of year, it makes me so happy simply to be out in the low sunshine for a while. Sagittarius is a restless sign, not likely to enjoy being cooped up on a rainy day. We can make the most of this energy by setting new moon intents for the areas of life we want to get moving, the new horizons we want to seek as the Solstice heralds the return of the light and we move towards a new calendar year. At Solstice the sun moves into earthy Capricorn and we begin the process of manifesting these intents, helped along by a constructive aspect between visionary Jupiter and disciplined Saturn on 27th December. Moving into the new year, Jupiter pings the North Node on January 4th, encouraging us to expand our sense of what we can achieve and reach for a new dream. With Mars coming home to Aries on January 1st and Mercury moving into Capricorn on January 5th, we should have some powerful resources for manifesting our perfect 2019.

On which note (think of it as a reward for reading this far!), I'm doing a special offer in January of a third off a full astrology report (so 50 UK pounds instead of 75 ukp). This is a full natal interpretation and a forecast for 2019, giving you all the information you need to manifest a really amazing year. Drop me an email if you're interested as there are a limited number of slots. Readings can be in person, by telephone or on Skype.
Anyways. A few days after the new moon, on 9th December, Chiron the wounded healer goes direct after a long period retrograde. If we've been digging around in our past and finding emotional or ancestral patterns which need healing, now's the time gently to coax them into the light. We are helped in this process by a flowing aspect between Chiron and the far-reaching North Node on 23rd December and may be challenged when feisty Mars meets Chiron on 29th December. The challenge is to claim what is ours, part of our own identity, and release the wounds carried by our ancestors or our early social conditioning.

Even further out beyond the personal planets, Neptune meets the North Node more awkwardly on December 9th, pushing us to imagine a new reality, to create the world we dream of instead of complaining about the consensus reality we believe we are stuck with. As ever, the trans-personal planets provide the wild card in our seasonal story. On 15th December rebellious Uranus makes a challenging aspect with dreamy Neptune, pushing us even further towards a new vision of the truth. Ideally, we can use this energy to bring that vision into reality, to find a more authentic sense of self and to relate to the collective more authentically too. The more each of us does our own inner work, the more we make ripples in the collective. And that folks, is how real change is made...
