Full Moon Astro-Tarot; Work and Power

The full moon on August 26th brings a grand trine in the earth signs focusing out to the Moon in Pisces to form a kite configuration. The Sun in Virgo trines Saturn in Capricorn and Uranus in Taurus, with both Saturn and Uranus forming sextiles to the Moon to complete the kite. The combination of a full moon, often a time when an energy reaches its peak, and this earthy grand trine has a strong message for us - manifest, manifest, manifest! This grand trine brings a flow of work energy, a reminder that all the affirmations in the world won't help us if we don't put the work in to make our dreams real. If we've done the work, put the effort in, this full moon may bring us some results. The strong earth energy at this full moon asks us to focus on what is really in front of us, not what we wish we had or what we are pretending we have. Our illusions are likely to be challenged by cold hard reality. This full moon as the focus of the kite asks us to step down from our Moon in Pisces castles in the air, and dig our fingers into the earth. What are we touching, feeling, mending, crafting, making?
These days, our work often seems to be defined purely as the way we earn money, but of course, work is anything which requires us to make an effort. The Saturn in Capricorn arm of the trine tells us that work is how we gain status, how we know our place in society and prove our worth. Uranus in Taurus, on the other hand, asks us to consider what we value the most and how we are bringing those values into our daily reality. The Sun in Virgo suggests that personal growth can come from giving service to others, to putting our individual desires aside and working for the common good.

A few hours after the full moon, Venus in Libra forms a tense square with Pluto in Capricorn, highlighting the shadow side of manifesting our desires. Are we truly living by our ideals, or are we using them as an excuse to increase our own power and influence? This may be a full moon of getting what we deserve, whether that's moving to the next level of mastery in our work in the world, or Moon in Pisces showing up our illusions and delusions. Whatever happens, we are asked to celebrate what we have, to honour this season of harvest by considering the abundance around us, whatever form it takes.
Once again, I've done a tarot wisdom reading to get some more insight into the energies of this full moon.

Sun in Virgo - Where can we grow by giving service to others?  Three of Cups

By finding our joy, and living it. By following our bliss, and helping others to find theirs.By working with like-minded souls towards a common goal, and having fun along the way. The Three of Cups asks us to connect to our flow, to our creativity. We grow by giving service when we serve with joy, following love and passion rather than duty.

Moon in Pisces at apex of kite - Where are our illusions being challenged?  Five of Wands

Ha! Power - this card reinforces the message of the Venus Pluto square. The illusion that we need to compete, to fight with others to be successful is being challenged right now. The Five of Wands asks us to pay attention to how we focus our power and energy. The earth grand trine at this full moon brings productive energy, but we can't achieve our goals if we lack focus.

Grand trine in earth signs - What can we manifest for the collective?  Strength

Once again issues of power and focus. The Strength card suggests that we can manifest a new way of expressing our power, a power that comes from within, born of self belief and self awareness, rather than the dominating power often expressed by Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn, in which we impose our power on others in order to hide our own insecurities. Uranus in Taurus as part of this configuration has also got me thinking about how we impose our power and strength on the earth, how we connect to the planet and the land we live on. We need to transform outdated ideas of dominion and even stewardship, and heal our connection to our wild selves. Our strength lies in being part of the earth, the great web of connections which form life on our planet. When we separate ourselves from this web and seek to control it, we lose our connection to our inner wild and our true inner strength.

Venus square Pluto - How can we transform the relationship between / to money and power?
 Ten of Arrows

This card talks about how we share knowledge, how we pass on information. Perhaps we are gaining more awareness of the deep links between money and power, and what we can do to untangle them. Or perhaps that's an over-hopeful illusion of my own that is being challenged.... There's also the Smith Waite version of this card, the ten swords in the back of a prone, defeated figure, showing that money = power is a paradigm that really ought to have outlived its usefulness by now.

This reading is for the collective, but you can use the same questions for a personal full moon reading, to gain clarity on what and how you are manifesting. If you know your natal chart, you can relate the questions to the areas of your chart where these placements fall. And if you don't know your chart, you can get a reading with me and we can work on it together! I'd love to hear how you get on and how these energies are working for you.
