So here I am, stepping off a cliff. The Fool is a beginning, a point of potential, an action without thought. But the dog of planning and procrastinating and making lists snaps at my heels. The Fool is successful without planning, without trying, without striving desperately to succeed, to pass whatever invisible test might await us. Indeed, it is this very lack of trying which gives her luck and all the beautiful gifts of life. Even when life is painful, stressful, too full in general. The Fool greets life with beginner's mind, taking nothing for granted - no experience, no knowledge, just a few possessions slung over her back. My possessions - not mine really of course, but I hold them here for a while - are these symbols, the cards of the tarot, the planets and the zodiac. I step off the cliff to find out what these symbols are, how they work in our lives, how they change and influence our stories, our personal myths. Who knows where they will take us?
